Wine Trend was hired to build four custom wine enclosures for the private dining area of the Hyatt Regency, Curacao. Given only a basic conceptual design, Wine Trend developed these custom enclosures from the ground up. We overcame all of the logistical challenges associated with stand alone glass enclosures. We performed a heat load calculation to determine to the appropriate thickness of the glass needed to maintain an optimal temperature for long term wine storage. After the client signed off on our final design, we custom fabricated the enclosures from scratch, using fine teak and stainless steel. We then determined the correct independent cooling unit for optimal long term wine storage, and all of the LED lighting necessary to showcase the wine collection, whether during the day or night. The lighting was outfitted with a remote dimmer, allowing for the easiest possible changes to the lighting. We then crated and shipped the enclosures from our workshop in Richmond, VA to the Southern Caribbean; where they were met by our installation team, who assembled and set up the units so all the client had to do was plug it in, and stock it with wine.

We handled all of the coordination between the architect, interior designer, the Hyatt corporate office, hotel manager, crating company, shipping company, HVAC team, electricians, and installers. Having one point of contact for all involved parties kept the project running smoothly and on schedule. We do not consider the job done until the client is happy.
